Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet.

It’s been a while! I’ve taken time off to – get this – live my actual real life. I know. Revolutionary.

During my four-month hiatus, I read multiple novels (YAY go me), cleaned my house a zillion times, and celebrated the holiday season with vigour. It was a good time.

March is an exciting month for me: I finally get to take a deep breath because holiday season is over. I love a good holiday as much as the next guy, but it feels good to settle into the normality that will ensue for the next six months.

Other than waking up at the same time every day, drinking my afternoon coffee and getting back into the routine of cooking dinner every night, March is the month I start back at the gym (RIP) and is also the time that I slide right back into the dms of the blogging world.

After sweating through 45+ degree (Celsius) days in the past month, I am glad – SO GLAD – to be on the last legs of summer. I know you all love it, but ugh. Give me layers and large takeaway cups of warm drinks anytime. I’m a winter girl through and through.

There are three projects that I am well and truly aiming for this month, and by writing them here, I’m really leaving myself no way out.

1 – A la blog. You may have noticed the little (large) update! The entire layout is new and fresh and clean, and while I’m still honing in on my technical expertise, on the whole, the site is up and running and looking pretty swishy at the same time IMO. I’m reverting back to my ways of good ol’ lifestyle writing, with a mix of fashion and beauty, because try as I might, I just cannot stop raving about the two.

2 – Making my house a home. After renting two different places and loving them both, Corey and I are pushing to buy a house this year. I know. Buying. A house. In Sydney with our crazy prices and wildly unreasonable market. Are we even real people? I digress. We plan to get a bit of a fixer-upper (will not get Frozen’s song out of my head for the rest of the day now) and really make it ours. Corey’s obviously psyched about landscaping and building an entertaining deck and all that boy stuff, but I personally am refreshed at the idea of having no more rental limitation. I’m excited to live in a home (our home!!!) and have total control over its appearance and functionality. As such, I’m spending copious amounts of time on Pinterest trying to find balance between my trend-led impulses and designs that will truly age with grace. I am by nooooo means an interior designer, but I’m learning and hopefully will know enough by the time I have to get into action. Bear with me, because the second we land a house, this blog will hear of nothing else.

3 – Daily appearance. Oh gosh, this one is embarrassing. If you work from home (as I practically do), you’ll be aware of the great and comforting forces that are the desire to stay ‘undressed’ all day. I’m not going to lie, the last two months have consisted of me wearing gym clothes to work, no makeup and hair in a greasy ponytail. Great for the gym, but I gotta admit, after so long doing this, I feel pretty gross, uninspiring, and am seriously starting to doubt my skills in pulling myself together. As such, I’m trying to make more of an effort. Washing my hair more often (sob). Giving more attention to my skincare. Paint my nails more. Don’t go three weeks without shaving. That sort of thing.

It is totally unnecessary, I understand that, but I feel it’s important to look good and feel good too.

So that’s it! My March goals, which I will be working on this whole month. Crossing my fingers (and yours too, please) that in review, we’ll find that all of the above just really worked out. Hoping for the best!

What are your goals and aspirations for the coming month?
